Meet Dr. Brad Polen

Low Back Pain & Sciatica Specialist in Glen Carbon, IL

Dr. Brad Polen, DC

Dr. Brad Polen is a chiropractor and rehabilitation specialist who focuses exclusively on the non-surgical treatment of low back pain and sciatica. His clinical approach is centered on identifying why back pain keeps returning and addressing the movement, strength, and load-tolerance deficits that drive chronic and recurrent symptoms.

Dr. Polen earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Kent State University, a master’s degree in Sport Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and his Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan University. He has completed advanced postgraduate training in rehabilitation and spine-related conditions through Northeast College of Health Science, the Prague School of Rehabilitation, and the McKenzie Institute USA.

In addition to private practice, Dr. Polen teaches anatomy, physiology, and clinical sciences at Saint Louis University, Saint Louis College of Health Careers, and Logan University. His academic background reinforces his evidence-based approach and commitment to applying current research to real-world patient care.

Dr. Polen works primarily with adults experiencing chronic or recurrent low back pain, disc bulges or herniations, and sciatica—especially individuals who have tried rest, injections, or prior therapy with limited long-term success. His treatment philosophy blends hands-on care with progressive rehabilitation to restore movement, build spinal capacity, and support a safe return to work, exercise, and daily activity.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Polen is pursuing his PhD in Exercise Science with a research focus on exercise-based interventions for musculoskeletal conditions. He is passionate about helping patients understand their condition, regain confidence in movement, and achieve lasting relief rather than temporary symptom control.

Dr. Polen’s mission is simple: identify the root cause of low back pain, restore function, and help patients return to the activities they enjoy—stronger, more resilient, and better equipped to stay pain-free.
